(HW -- Re-read Raskolnikov's dream in Part One, Section Five and jot down all the objects and events that could function as symbols or foreshadowings for future events in the novel)
Friday - Discuss Raskolnikov's dream individually and within larger group context. Introduce the 12 Stages of the Hero's Journey and determine if Raskolnikov fits the mold of a 'hero.' Any final thoughts/commentary on Crime and Punishment.

I really liked the little hand out today concerning the above. I "study" the Bible and didn't have too much background knowledge on that particular story, I just knew that he had risen, so I appreciated it, a lot.
After I re-read the assigned section I want to read from the Bible itself about Lazarus and if I find anything else that I think is interesting you know all too well that I won't hesitate to share...
...this time I swear it won't be about Russian shadow puppets.
